Last night, I watched filled and stunned by one of the most beautiful, heartfelt, well-written and superbly directed films I’ve ever seen: @niafromthecoast’s feature debut, #LittleWoods This gorgeous and lyrical film starring @tessamaethompson and @lilyjamesofficial is the culmination of Nia’s maturity, talent and persistence that I’ve had the luck and pleasure to witness behind the scenes all these years. From the moment I met her, she has captivated me with her regal presence, sharp wit, and zest for people, their lives and stories. Since then, we’ve traveled all over Europe, made many films, cooked many meals and I’m still awe-struck each time by the force within her. Once, Nia gave me a peek into her computer where a HUGE treasure trove of folders within folders of her writing exists. No matter the obstacles, she persists in making films, traveling the world, befriending everyone, and collecting worthwhile experiences. Nia is one of those people that truly deserve every bit of success and attention AND MORE. I’m beyond proud, inspired, and hopeful for what will come for her. This is only the beginning.
